How much would you pay for a good set of headphones? Fifty bucks, a couple hundred? If you want to go all-in on immaculate audio reproduction and hang the sense of it, you could easily spend a grand or more. But if you want a genuine piece of music history, you could have paid $70,000 for a set of headphones once used by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
I’ve had serious audiophile cans strapped to my head, which cost thousands, and honestly, they might be great for monitoring but not so much for just enjoying music or gaming. Just give me the Audeze Maxwell, and I’m happy.
However, these Realistic Nova 40 headphones were never made to be audiophile-level headphones. But their heavy sound isolation meant they were popular for people either wanting to keep the world o…
Read moreDuring Concord’s early access, it was pretty hard for PC players to find games without queuing in console lobbies. At the time, I gave Concord the benefit of the doubt, deciding to chalk it up to a slow early access. Unfortunately, things haven’t gotten better since the game became available for everyone.
There are currently 96 players in Concord. It’s off-peak hours, but having a 24-hour peak of 276 and an all-time peak of 697 on SteamDB is pretty damning—it’s been a tepid first week on PC for sure. There are no public records for player counts on PlayStation, so this is really all we have to go on right now regarding Concord’s popularity.
PC players have reported that long queue times are very much a problem for those not queuing alongside c…
Read moreMore than halfway through its “Server Slam” online stress test, Blizzard rolled out a buff for Diablo 4’s Necromancer class. According to a post on the official forums from Blizzard community manager PezRadar, the buff “will be addressing some of the feedback we’ve seen regarding Necromancer pets and their survivability.” PezRadar further adds that “This is a backend change so users will not need to download a new update.”
When I took a gander at the overall response to the Server Slam yesterday, everyone seemed to be having a good time—except the Necros. While there’s always complaints or disagreements about any change, Necromancer mains (and even some players of other classes) almost unanimously agreed that the character’s signature skeleton minions had all the stay…
Read moreWhen you think OLED screens, thin and light, and some of the best gaming laptops, you think expensive. And to be honest, you wouldn’t be wrong. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find great deals on super portable power with fabulous displays, and these two Asus laptops prove it.
They are the Asus Zephyrus G14, and the Asus Zephyrus G16, two laptops we’ve reviewed (at higher specs, which I’ll get to later) and two laptops that we rate very highly. Portable power has come a long way, and both these machines simply feel a cut above the rest.
Sleek, civilised, and still featuring plenty of gaming horsepower, they both make for fantastic deals at the prices below. The real question is, if you’re laptop shopping right now and want something that’s got the goods but doesn’t scream ga…
